IPAC’s experienced instructors will demonstrate systematic approaches for sorting and prioritizing information in the complex environment of decision-making in the backcountry.  Topics covered include: preparation\, planning\, and execution of a backcountry tour based on avalanche conditions\, avalanche terrain identification\, hazard mitigation and safe travel techniques; weather\, snowpack\, and stability analysis; and advanced avalanche rescue techniques. Students MUST complete an avalanche rescue fundamentals course as a required prerequisite for participation in IPAC Level 1.\n \nThis course requires lift access via the ski area.
