Snowpit Observations
More detailed information about the snowpack:

We recieved an inch of snow over the ice crust that came in on Thursday, which had bonded well with the quarter inch ice crust underneath.  The 10-12inches from last Wednesday had consolidated down to around 6 inches.  This had bonded well to the melt-freeze crust underneath that.  Pit dug on a NE aspect, CT2 for the surface crust, CT11 for interface between Wednesday storm and last Sunday storm.  No propegation.  About 15:00 the sun finally came out and heated the snow up fully, with effort we could set wet slabs off on ski cuts on steep convex rollovers.  The new snow ontop of the melt freeze crust was mashed potatoes at this point.

Temperatures overnight on Saturday dipped below freezing and there was a melt-freeze crust again everywhere.  Above 5600 it had softened a little by the time we left the area at 11AM.
